daybank@icloud.comWhatever you don't spend today carries over to tomorrow as a bonus. Overspend and tomorrow's budget gets a little less. Your balance always reflects exactly what you have to work with.
Your streak counts consecutive days where you stayed under budget. It resets to zero if you overspend. The longer your streak, the stronger the habit you're building.
Daily mode gives you the same fixed amount every day. Monthly mode takes your monthly budget, divides it equally across all days of the month, and gives you a consistent daily allowance. Rollover still applies in both modes โ unspent days carry forward and overspent days are automatically subtracted from tomorrow.
Your rollover handles it automatically. Any overspending or savings from your daily mode days carry forward as a positive or negative rollover. When you switch, the monthly budget is divided equally across the full month, and your accumulated rollover is added on top. The math takes care of itself โ you don't need to do anything.
Free users can view the last 7 days of history. DayBank Pro unlocks your full history from day one.
Yes โ you can add expenses up to 3 days back. Tap + Add Spend, then change the date. Your balance updates automatically.
Planned Expenses (Pro) let you register fixed monthly costs like rent, subscriptions, or loan repayments. DayBank automatically subtracts them from your monthly budget before calculating your daily allowance โ so your daily budget already accounts for your fixed costs without you having to log them. You only log what you consciously choose to spend.
Money In (Pro) lets you log money you receive โ refunds, split bills, Venmo paybacks, or returns โ directly alongside your regular spending. Toggle "Money In" when adding an entry and it reduces your spending total instead of increasing it.
Income entries reduce your day's spending total. If your income exceeds your spending on a given day, the surplus rolls forward into tomorrow โ exactly like unspent money does. For example: $50 daily budget, spend $30, receive $20 back โ net spent $10, balance $40, all $40 rolls to tomorrow.
Spend entries show in red with a โ prefix (e.g. โ$30.00). Income entries show in amber with a + prefix (e.g. +$20.00). The Spent stat always shows what actually left your pocket โ not the net figure. Your balance reflects the net result.
Spread (Pro) is for the big expenses that don't fit in a single day โ a car repair, a new laptop, a dentist visit. Instead of letting one cost crater a whole day, you spread it across a window of up to 90 days and DayBank quietly trims a small fixed amount off each day's budget until it's absorbed. $300 over 30 days is just $10 a day. You'll find it in Planned Expenses.
No. A Spread never appears as a logged entry โ it silently lowers your daily allowance instead, the same way Planned Expenses do. Your balance, widgets, streak, and history all simply reflect the slightly smaller daily budget.
Future days go back to your full budget, while the days that already passed keep their deduction โ think of it as "stop paying going forward." Everything already recorded in your history stays exactly as it happened.
Jars (Pro) let you save toward future expenses inside your daily budget โ a trip, a new phone, concert tickets. Create a jar with an optional target, then fill it on your terms: a slice of today's budget, or an amount spread over days or weeks. DayBank quietly sets a little aside from each day's budget and the jar fills up. You can create as many jars as you like.
Open the jar and tap Add to jar. Choose an amount and a window โ just today, or spread over up to 90 days (for example, $100 over an easy week is about $14 a day). Each day inside the window, that small amount comes off your daily budget and goes into the jar. You can stack multiple contributions and stop one anytime โ whatever's already been saved stays in the jar.
Tap Release whenever you're ready โ on the big day, or anytime before. The amount lands in that day's budget and rolls forward as you spend, just like regular rollover. You can release only part of it and keep the rest saved, or move leftovers into another jar.
No โ and this matters. DayBank doesn't hold or move money. A jar tracks what you've set aside from your budget; the actual cash stays wherever it is. Before releasing a jar, make sure the money really exists in your account. DayBank is only as accurate as what you enter.
Your jars keep working โ contributions in progress continue, balances stay intact, and you can always release your saved money. Creating new jars and contributions requires Pro.
Flow is DayBank's insights tab โ where your daily numbers add up into the bigger picture. At a glance it answers three questions: am I winning this period, where is my money actually going, and is my rollover cushion growing? Switch between week, month, and year views.
Everyone sees the big picture: total spent versus allocated, pacing, and the daily chart. Pro adds the deeper patterns โ where your money goes by category with changes versus the previous period, which weekdays run hot, and your rollover cushion over time.
Flow needs a little history before it can say anything useful โ patterns start appearing after about a week of logging, and the deeper Pro sections unlock after two weeks. Keep logging and it fills in on its own.
Long press your home screen โ tap + in the top corner โ search DayBank โ choose your preferred size (small, medium, or large). The widget shows your current balance, streak, and recent expenses at a glance. A lock screen complication is also available.
No โ and that's intentional. DayBank is manual entry by design. Logging a spend makes you think about it. That pause is where saving actually happens.
